Alex & Alise: an authentic wedding in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma

June in Maremma Toscana has a special scent. The earth warms under the sun, the hills turn golden, and the air smells of wild herbs, vineyards, and summer. It is precisely in this setting that Alex and Alise, an international couple from England and Estonia, chose to celebrate their wedding at Sequerciani, one of the most authentic and evocative locations in Maremma Toscana.

As a Maremma Toscana wedding planner, one of the aspects I love most about my job is transforming a location into a true experience, built around people. And Alex and Alise's wedding was exactly that: authentic, moving, elegant without excess, and deeply rooted in the region.

An authentic destination wedding in the hills of Tatti

The guests, approximately 50 people from mainly England and Estonia, came to Tuscany to experience not just a wedding, but an immersive experience in the most authentic heart of the region.

Sequerciani, located in the small village of Tatti, in the province of Grosseto, is a venue that perfectly embodies the Green & Gold wedding philosophy: nature, spontaneous elegance, pristine landscapes, and a strong local identity.
Ostentatious luxury doesn't exist here. Something much rarer exists: true beauty.

The bride, Alise, was incredibly elegant in her delicacy. Shy, refined, with an almost poetic presence.
Alex, on the other hand, perfectly embodied British irony and politeness: very English in his manner, but with a contagious humor that made the entire planning light-hearted and fun.

Getting married under an oak tree: the symbol of a love that takes root

From the very first site visit, the couple knew one thing: they wanted to get married under a large oak tree overlooking the hills of the Tuscan Maremma and the village of Tatti.

And indeed, the oak tree has always been a symbol of strength, stability, and deep roots.
In ancient European traditions, it represented the tree of protection and continuity: marrying under an oak tree meant wishing the couple a love capable of growing strong over time, resilient to the seasons of life, just like this ancient tree.

The celebration was deliberately simple and short, perfectly in keeping with the couple's personalities and the natural atmosphere of the location.

The value of a wedding planner in Tuscany: preventing unexpected events before they happen

That day, however, there was a major challenge: the heat.

June 2025 in Tuscany was exceptionally hot, and on the wedding day, temperatures soared to 40 degrees Celsius.
During the planning process, the couple initially wanted to celebrate the ceremony at 2:00 PM, in the full sun.

And this is where the value of a destination wedding planner in Tuscany really comes into play.

Planning a wedding isn't simply about coordinating suppliers or creating a beautiful aesthetic. It means knowing the area, anticipating critical issues, protecting guests, and guiding the couple toward the best choices even when they initially envisioned something different.

After several discussions, I managed to convince them to postpone the ceremony to 4:00 PM.
A crucial decision.

The temperatures were so high that celebrating the ceremony two hours earlier would have put guests, musicians, photographers, and even the couple themselves in difficulty. The light was still beautiful, but finally softer and more liveable.

And this is precisely the difference between organizing a wedding and designing a truly successful experience.

Aperitif, jazz, and the flower bar inspired by Estonian traditions

After the ceremony, guests moved to the back of the farmhouse, a shaded and breezy area, perfect for a cool aperitif accompanied by live jazz music.

Here, we created one of the most unique corners of the wedding: the flower bar.

In Estonia and many Eastern European countries, there is a tradition of giving flowers to the bride during the wedding as a symbolic gesture of affection and good wishes. We reinterpreted this custom in a convivial and contemporary way by creating a small flower corner where guests could compose delicate bouquets to give to Alise.

It was a spontaneous, elegant, and deeply moving moment, capable of uniting different cultures through a simple gesture.

When the heat puts even the decorations to the test

The dinner was planned in a panoramic spot nestled in the Tuscan countryside.
But a few hours before the event, the sun was so strong that even the candles began to bend from the heat.

And it's precisely in moments like these that you understand the true value of having professional vendors and a trained team.

Thanks to the incredible work of the InfinitoAmore floral team and the suppliers involved, we were able to quickly modify some details of the decor, creating an elegant table setting that would withstand extreme temperatures, without compromising the aesthetics of the wedding.

This is one of the most important aspects of planning a wedding in Tuscany: working with professionals who truly understand the territory, the climate, and the dynamics of outdoor events.

A dinner full of emotion and the value of family

The dinner, catered by the extraordinary Magnani Catering, was one of the most intense moments of the day.

The family speeches made the atmosphere even more authentic.
The groom's father dedicated simple yet profound words to Alex, reminding him that "true luck in life is not finding someone perfect, but someone with whom you can finally feel at home."

And it was impossible not to be moved by watching the guests listen in silence, surrounded by the Maremma hills illuminated by the golden light of the sunset.

The millefeuille show cooking and an unforgettable party

After dinner, a special surprise awaited: a live show cooking show for the millefeuille cake.

Wearing chef's hats and aprons, Alise and Alex participated in the preparation of the cake, having fun like children among raspberries, cream, and powdered sugar.
A spontaneous, authentic, and incredibly engaging moment for the guests too.

The party then continued in front of the venue's illuminated villa.
The bride changed her dress for the party, and the first dance ushered in an evening of music, an open bar, laughter, and genuine happiness.

The true value of a well-planned wedding

As a wedding planner in Maremma, Tuscany, I deeply believe that the success of a wedding isn't measured solely by the beauty of the photographs.

It's measured by how the couple feels.
By the serenity with which they experience the day.
By the way their guests remember the experience.
By the ability to transform even the unexpected into something natural and harmonious.

At the end of the night, Alex and Alise thanked me with a special gift and words I'll always cherish.

But the greatest gift, for me, is seeing the newlyweds truly happy.

And this is the heart of my work: creating authentic weddings in Tuscany, where every detail is born with care, experience, and love for this extraordinary land.

Because a wedding in Maremma, Tuscany, is more than just an event.

It's an experience that stays with you. June in Maremma Toscana has a special scent. The earth warms under the sun, the hills turn golden, and the air smells of wild herbs, vineyards, and summer.
